Dear SCI Supporter,
You are cordially invited to attend one of Lubbock's premier social
events, the 2008 Safari Club International Banquet presented by
Peoples Bank.
Once a year, the Lubbock SCI Chapter comes together for an evening
of fine food, fellowship and a chance to bid on exceptional live and
silent auction items. This year is a very special year for our
chapter because we are honoring renowned orthopedic surgeon and avid
sportsman, Dr. Mark Scioli , with Lubbock SCI's Lifetime Achievement
Award.
The evening will begin at 5 p.m. on March 8 in the Lubbock Memorial
Civic Center Banquet Hall. The banquet meal is being prepared and
served by the Lubbock Chef's Association. The program will start
with Dr. Scioli's Lifetime Achievement Award presentation. This
presentation will be followed by an amazing line-up of live auction
items including an African Photo Safari, a whitewater rafting
adventure on Idaho's Salmon River, a mink fur, as well as numerous
exciting hunt packages from all over the world. The silent auction
features over 50 great items including jewelry, paintings and
hunting items. Finally, there will be raffles, including a high
definition TV and our featured “Wall of Guns.”
All tickets are $100. No tickets will be sold at the door, and only
400 tickets will be sold for this year's event. To purchase your
tickets, please call or go by the office of Dr. Ralph Menard at
North Star Professional Center. The telephone number is 806-797-4596
and the office address is 4642 North Loop 289, Suite 209. Ticket
orders may also be placed by e-mail at lubbocksafariclub@hotmail.com.
The deadline for ticket purchase is Saturday, March 1, or until 400
tickets are sold.
A listing of Auction Items and Packages may be viewed at
www.lubbocksci.org.
This event raises the funds necessary for Lubbock SCI to continue
supporting wildlife conservation efforts and regional projects.
These projects include: scholarships for the Range, Wildlife and
Fisheries Management Department at Texas Tech University; donating
essential equipment to Texas Parks and Wildlife officers; and
providing Safari Wish Hunts for disadvantaged or seriously ill youth
and wounded veterans.
Best regards,
Ralph Menard, M.D. - Chapter President
Barry Cowart, DVM - Banquet Chairman
